Long Preston to Wigglesworthy
This circular route heads out west of Long Preston on quiet country lanes to Wigglesworth and on to Halton West. It returns via the main road with the option of a short diversion to Hellifield.

Route points
Start at the Maypole Inn and turn left down Main Street to take Station Road (the B6478).
Follow this road and cross a bridge over the River Ribble. Ride on for nearly 3km, to arrive in Wigglesworth at The Plough Hotel & Restaurant.
Ride up through the village for 600m to a T-junction and take a left turning signposted Bolton by Bowland.
Stay on this road (Forrest Becks Brow) for nearly 1km to a T-junction. Turn left at the T-junction signposted Paythorne. Follow this for 2.5km as you climb up past a mast and then downhill to a left-turning T-junction.
Take the left turning signposted Halton West and Hellifield (Long Bank Lane). After 1.5km you will reach a T-junction. Take the left turn to Hellifield (Hellifield Road)
Ride through Halton West after 1km and follow the road down over the River Ribble. After 500m you will reach the busy A682
Turn left onto the A682 and note that this is an A-road with a 60mph speed limit. After a few hundred meters you can take a right turning to visit Hellifield if you wish. Follow the A682 for 3km back to Long Preston.
Turn left onto the A65 as you reach the village.
